Limnologen Växjö

The residential area Limnologen in Växjö is part of Välle Broar – Sweden’s largest single area built entirely in wood.

Sited on Lake Trummen in central Växjö, the Limologen residential area was completed in 2009. The area comprises four 8-storey buildings which, at the time the construction work was completed, were Sweden’s tallest newly built residential buildings with load-bearing timber frames. The area offers 134 modern tenant-owner cooperative apartments, with windows affording light and sea views throughout. The project was documented for training purposes and the construction process was constantly monitored. Limnologen has won awards, including Stora Samhällsbyggarpriset 2010 for community planning projects.
